Quatre Raberba Winner
Quatre is the caring, kind member of the group. He can usually be found telling people not to fight, or going mad. It's usually one or the other. Okay, just kidding. He only goes nutzy once. But anyways, Quatre is the closest one in the group to a Pacifist. Some believe he would do well with Relena for this reason, me, I think Heero would be forced to kill him, but there you are... Quatre tends to be guilty about things, war, sending the Gundams away, blowing up Trowa... Okay, so, for the last one maybe he had a reason to be guilty, but, as Duo says "If you leave him alone Quatre will blame himself for everything. I wouldn't be surprised if one day he said his lack of effort was the reason there's not air in Outer Space", or something pretty close (hey, I'm quoting from memory here...) Anyways, it's a pretty fair summing up.
Quatre was, unbelievably, rather a stuck up child, rude and uncaring about anything. He has 28 sisters (he used to have 29, but then...), all of whom were test tube engenired children. He naturally believes himself to be the same, which is untrue. His mother (Quatrine) died giving birth to him, a fact which has been hiden from him. So, being the only male child, he is heir to the Winner family fortune and business. This is a good thing for 2 reasons. 1, Quatre is very good at strategy, a thing that can be helpful in either business or Gundam wars and, 2, it gives the Pilots a supply of money. The downside is that the Winner family is very peaceful, and violence is against their beliefs. Piloting a Gundam to destroy multiple organisations, no matter how evil, is definetely not peaceful. But we're not there yet.
While on a trip to Earth, Quatre's shuttle was taken captive for ransom by the Maganacs, a group of rebels from the Middle East. He stayed with them, shocking them with his stuck-upedness (ouch). Then, their base was attacked and he threw himself in front of their leader, getting shot in the shoulder. Quatre had apparently decided to stop sulking in misery. He went out with the other Maganacs to fight of someone or the other (I'm a little confused by this part) and helped to destroy a lot of them. So, the leader of the Maganacs (Rasid or Rashid), who, thanks to Quatre, was not mortally wounded, made Quatre a member of the Maganacs (Maganac means family, they're all test tube children as well) and ordered the others to address him as Quatre-sama (lord or Sir Quatre)
Quatre is the first to meet up with Trowa, and ends up fighting with him. However, his pacifist feelings take over and he surrenders to Trowa, who surrenders back, and the two of them go off to Quatre's house. He gives Trowa help repairing his Gundam, and invites him to stay longer, but Trowa leaves. Quatre goes back to space and meets his father and his sister Ilea, both of whom he tells that he is a Gundam pilot. Quatre's father is outraged (they're against fighting, remember?). However, in an OZ set up, their house is attacked, and both Quatre's father and Ilea are killed. Quatre, grief stricken, goes nutzy and gets his hands on Wing Zero, promply heading out to kill anything that fights in space. He encounters Heero and Trowa, who, realising that he is highly dangerous and meaning to destroy the colonies, attack him. Heero fires at Quatre with his beam cannon, but Trowa pushes Quatre away and is hit by the beam, and is (supposedly) destroyed. Quatre snaps out of it and askes Heero to kill him. Heero passes out before he can (or else he would have, with a gun, in space (if you want to know about that, see No Guns in Space) Quatre decides to work on getting all the pilots together instead, knowing that they should try to fight together, in space.
Quatre pilots 04, Sandrock, who is just as much his friend as his suit. When he is forced to self destruct, it lets him out and continues on into the fray on its own (that was the saddest thing I've ever seen in my life, apart from Spock's funeral) Sandrock is equiped with matching curved blades, scimitars if I'm not mistaken. They can heat up and be thrown, destroying anything they touch (they're probably almost as hot as my oven... ^-^;;;) Quatre also at one point in time attempts to fight with a sword. This has a rather bad outcome, and I wouldn't be surprised if he never tries again... (Dorothy is really scary)
Heero
Quatre and Heero don't really associate with eachother a lot, they just don't meet very much. Of course, when Quatre went on his little nutzy sprig, he did try to kill Heero (and Trowa) and Heero consequently attempted to blast him into another dimension. Costing him his best friend. So, I'm sure Quatre wasn't really thrilled, but being the type of guy he is, he blamed it on himself, not Heero.
Duo
Quatre tries to be the voice of reason for Duo's whackyness. Tries. He does, however, succeed in keeping Duo away from champaigne at the end of the series (hey, they're only 15, eh?) They attack an OZ base together, and Quatre sacrifices himself (or tries to) to let Duo and Wufei get away.
Trowa
Trowa is the first other pilot Quatre meets, and fights. They surrender to eachother, and then go to have tea. They become good friends, but then Trowa leaves to go ... somewhere. They meet again later when Quatre goes nuts, and, in that state, tries to kill Trowa and Heero. Heero blasts at Quatre and Trowa shoves him out of the way, getting (suposedly) blown up in the process. Later Quatre learns that Trowa's not really dead, just amnesiac. So, he trots off and meats Trowa (and almost gets attacked by Catherine.) Quatre pushes Trowa out of the way of a shot in battle, which sparks Trowa's memory.
Wufei
Wufei doesn't have a lot of interaction with Quatre (or anyone else.) He comes and helps Quatre and Duo out in their failing attack against an OZ base. He respects Quatre's strategic abilites.
Dorothy Catalonia
A lot of people seem to pair up these two, which is strange, since they only meet once. Of course, in that meeting Dorothy stabs Quatre with a sword, which is always good. She later brings protestors to their batte in EW (the protestors are protesting against Mariemaia's army, not the Gundams.)
Ilea
Ilea is Quatre's oldest sister. She's a doctor, and they meet after Quatre sacrifices him gundam in a fight against OZ. They stick together for a while at Quatre's Dad's mansion. His father does not approve of war, however, and insists that Quatre stops piloting. Quatre refuses. OZ sets them up, and Ilea and his father are killed (the circumstances in the manga are different from those of the seriess) In any case, Quatre sees this and goes crazy. Hello anger management (or lack thereof.)
